What you’ll learn

Throughout a 12-week block, you will learn how to use dry materials such as pencil, charcoal or pastels, and wet painting mediums of watercolour and acrylic paint. With each medium, beginners will learn how to work with the materials and the different effects that can be created before embarking on a ‘finished’ piece of art. Returning students gain confidence with each term and are consulted as to the subjects they would like to focus on each term.  As a general rule, each term aims to include a variety of subjects such as the human face or form, landscapes, still-life, animals or natural objects. The aim by the end of the block is to feel that you have learned new techniques and had the chance to practise learned skills.
